DIGITAL TRACE 00 / 12

The world expands around you.

People, organisations, cooperation operators and institutions, including public bodies, all create digital traces. They contain actions, results and the reasons behind decisions. IWXA explores how to preserve this history and connect results when independent participants need to work together.

Choose a participant The orbits will shift to show its connections

Person

A person keeps the results of their work, the history behind them and the reasons for decisions. They decide what may be shared with others.

4 TYPES OF PARTICIPANTScroll down 12 SUBJECT DOMAINS

01 / THE PROBLEM   LIVING IN A DIGITAL WORLD

There are more applications.
Continuity is harder to keep.

Imagine switching applications halfway through a project. You can move some documents, but the history of approvals stays in the old service. You have to reconstruct it by hand and explain the decisions all over again.

TRY IT

One task. Two ways forward.

TODAY: FRAGMENTED WORK

VS
IWXA CONCEPT: A CONNECTED RESULT

This is a conceptual comparison. It does not imply that every cross-application connection already works in released products.

02 / THE IDEA

A world of your own
begins with a small step.

The simplest example is a person's workspace. An organisation or institution has different data and responsibilities, but its results also need to be preserved and verified.

01

A person has a task

The focus is the participant who acts, learns, works, creates and makes decisions.

02

Memory and results emerge

Results gain meaning, provenance and the possibility of continued use within the participant's own workspace.

03

The environment remains open

With the participant's permission, new tools, people, organisations and AI assistants can connect to their environment.

Scroll or select a stage. The composition changes while you remain in control of the page.

03 / AN INDEPENDENT ENVIRONMENT   T2 - T3

Your world should not disappear
when the network goes down.

If the connection fails, local data and applications should remain available. This is the principle behind IWXA's persistent independent environment. External connections should add capabilities only when the person chooses them.

Persistent independence is an architectural principle of IWXA. This example does not claim that the LOCAL_ONLY mode is fully implemented across all products.
What works offline, and where is the boundary? +

The proposed persistent T2-T3 environment is intended to support ordinary work with local data, applications and results without requiring a cloud account. External AI and synchronisation would follow chosen rules.

The intended strict mode LOCAL_ONLY blocks external network transfer and cloud execution, while allowing explicitly initiated local import and export. It remains an architectural requirement; this example does not claim the control has passed full product qualification.

04 / MEANING AND PROVENANCE

The result matters.
So does its history.

A supplier states a delivery time, revises it and later withdraws the statement. See why the sequence matters for the next decision.

02 · Check suitability
01 · Source02 · Review03 · Acceptance
Why not simply replace the old record? +

Changing a result creates a new version and retains the evidence behind the previous one. Withdrawal limits future reliance on the information without erasing what happened.

Acceptance always belongs to a specific recipient and purpose. Created, delivered and accepted describe different events.

05 / INTELLIGENCE AND ACTION

AI can help.
You still make the decision.

An assistant prepares two supply options. Before taking action, you need to examine their conditions and find out what is still missing. This applies both to small local models and to future agents.

06 / INDEPENDENT PARTICIPANTS

Participants can work together
while retaining their boundaries.

A person, organisation, cooperation operator and institution may work on a shared task. Each acts within its authority and decides independently what to offer, accept or reject.

EVENTS OF BOTH PARTIES
  1. The exchange has not begun.
An educational simulation of two independent decisions. Reviewing an excerpt does not establish authority, subject-level compatibility or live cross-domain integration.
Which rights remain with independent participants? +

Each of the four participant types retains its own context, authority and decisions. An operator can coordinate without owning the source data; an organisation may accept an authorised result without automatically acquiring a person's history.

Authority to act depends on purpose, valid permission and evidence. If a withdrawal has not reached the other party, it cannot assume its information is current. Some actions must await verification.

07 / PRACTICAL WORLD

Different tasks.
Their own results.

A production order, course assignment and marketing experiment need different tools. IWXA products are developed for their respective tasks. Where useful and authorised, a result from one product may support work in another.

08 / BASIS

A result must retain
its meaning.

For order KL-042 the supplier first stated five working days, then revised the estimate to seven calendar days. The field name stayed the same but its meaning changed. Continued use requires knowing the revision, source and permitted conditions.

ORDER KL-042 / DELIVERY CHECK

“Five working days” and “seven calendar days” describe different time periods.

The recipient needs to know when the supplier corrected the statement and whether the current record may be used.
What the system records about a result

A record relates an entity, a value, a statement and a time. Change history and permission to use it are recorded separately.

REVISION 1SOURCE STATEMENT
The supplier reports five working days.

The recipient expects calendar days. Without a start date and a working calendar, this figure cannot automatically be compared with the requirement.

EXAMINE THE COMPONENTS OF THE STATEMENT

Entity · object

Order KL-042 is the entity described by the statement. Correcting the delivery time does not change the entity.

CONDITIONS FOR REUSE

What can the recipient decide?

The recipient wants to plan delivery. Copying a field from another application is not enough.

INSUFFICIENT BASIS The calendar meaning must be clarified.

A period in working days cannot be used as calendar days without additional information.

You can examine any revision of the sample statement here. This does not change the current record in chapter 04. To continue the cross-chapter exercise with a recipient, create and correct the record in chapter 04, then continue with the next part. No real data is exchanged.

09 / HOW THE PARTS FIT TOGETHER   IWXA AS A SYSTEM

How IWXA's parts
work together.

A person sets a task, a specialised product produces a result, and another participant evaluates its suitability. Six elements matter: the participant, result, meaning, working environment, intelligent assistance and independent acceptance.

EXPLORE THE SYSTEM

Select one of the six elements. An example from an order or project explains what it does and which boundary must be respected.

SIX ESSENTIAL ELEMENTSONE CONNECTED MODEL
01 / PARTICIPANT CONTEXTS

A person retains control of their decisions.

People, organisations, cooperation operators and institutions act within their own contexts. Cooperation does not require combining their memories.

PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

An employee applies their learning to a company project. The company may need evidence of a skill, but not their entire personal archive.

BOUNDARY

Being an employee does not transfer ownership of a personal context to the employer.

10 / THE COMBINED EFFECT   CONNECTED CAPABILITIES

What connections
make possible.

A saved result might help continue work in another application, support cooperation or inform a decision with AI. Choose one of four situations and examine the required conditions.

FOUNDATION BResult with provenanceSource, version and evidence
POSSIBILITYContinue workingAvoid starting over when changing applications
SITUATION

A result from one activity is needed in another.

After learning, a person wants to use completed work in a new project. Without context they must reconstruct its meaning, sources and versions manually.

WHAT THE COMBINATION ENABLES

A portable, verifiable result can support continued work if the receiving party understands and accepts it for the intended purpose.

IMPORTANT LIMIT

A shared format alone does not guarantee subject-level compatibility or acceptance.

11 / FUTURE SCALE

More possibilities.
The same independence.

The person starts with an autonomous workspace and may later add longer-term context, AI assistance or cooperation with independent participants. Local work remains a complete mode in its own right.

IWXA / THE WORK CONTINUES

What matters is
what becomes possible.

IWXA develops products for people, organisations and other independent participants. Their tasks differ, but each should be able to preserve results, verify sources and decisions, correct information and share only authorised data.
