Agent-Based Cooperative and Integrative Systems of Enterprises
What changes when software agents become involved in practical cooperation between independent businesses?
The investigation connects digital actions to management, authorisation, a firm's own business context, accountability and measurable economic outcomes.

The scale of the research problem
Digital systems used to record information, calculate indicators and support individual operations. Software agents add the possibility of preparing business actions: an application, document, supplier interaction, process status or a proposed decision. This makes accountability, permission and quality of context central economic questions.
The question is no longer confined to automating isolated tasks. It concerns how independent enterprises may organise joint economic action in a digital environment.
FIVE LINKS IN THE RESEARCH PROBLEM
Enterprise
The bearer of economic interest, risk, responsibility and an independent business context. It is an organisation that must retain control of its decisions, not merely a node in someone else's platform.
- K.01
Coordination
How independent organisations agree on actions and produce a shared result without losing their autonomy.
- K.02
Context
What information, rules, history and restrictions a digital actor needs before it can act correctly.
- K.03
Accountability
How business decisions, the permission to act and control mechanisms remain connected.
- K.04
Efficiency
How to measure changes in cost, speed, quality and risk rather than count automated operations alone.
From the virtual logistics operator to agent-based inter-firm cooperation
The doctoral programme follows an earlier line of research into the virtual logistics operator. The subject has expanded from coordination within supply chains to business processes, operator models and controlled digital action among independent enterprises.
Agent-based cooperative and integrative systems of enterprises
The current work brings together the theoretical concept, a proposed methodology of formation and preparation for wider practical and empirical testing. The doctoral study remains in development.
Stage 5 of 5
This research line moves from coordinating a logistics chain through an information operator towards examining digital action across wider networks of enterprises.
Five chapters of one research programme
The investigation moves from defining the object of study to proposing a concept, a repeatable methodology and its assessment through practical evidence. The map is a research plan, not a declaration that all chapters have passed academic evaluation.

Theoretical foundations
Guiding question
How are the forms of coordination between enterprises changing in the digital economy?
The chapter examines markets, hierarchies, networks, supply chains, platforms and digital agency. It establishes the economic basis for studying a proposed new class of cooperative systems.

Six questions define the investigation
The programme connects organisation theory, process management, inter-firm cooperation, digital platforms, data economics and the governance of digital action. The questions, rather than settled answers, define the present research field.
How do digital agents change the boundaries of enterprises and inter-firm cooperation?
A digital environment can bring external software functions close to the everyday processes of legally independent organisations. Which boundaries remain essential?
The practical setting of the research
The scientific programme develops alongside applied digital projects. They offer opportunities to observe enterprise tasks, data requirements, repeatability and organisational limits. This material may help refine questions and broaden the empirical base; it does not by itself establish that the proposed methodology has been validated.
The investigation stands where economic theory, organisational design and real digital processes meet.
Diagnostic and analytical projects
These projects examine management situations, business problems, initial conditions and alternative courses of action. They help define questions for further investigation.

Moving from methodology towards extended practical examination
The theoretical framework and methodology have been developed. The programme currently focuses on practical assessment, accumulating empirical material and preparing publications. This public description is not evidence of completed doctoral defence or final validation.
