Health - a System That Needs Constant Adjustment
I treat health as a changing problem. The body, workload and circumstances do not remain the same, so a method chosen once cannot be assumed to remain right indefinitely. By 'managed chaos' I mean stable directions of work, short protocols whose outcomes can be assessed and a willingness to change the method when the results call for it.
§ 01
Areas of attention
HL.01 - HL.06HL.01Sleep and recoveryThe first area: duration, consistency and quality. Everything else depends to some extent on this foundation.
HL.02Metabolism and nutritionSteady energy, adequate protein and fewer sharp fluctuations. I treat diet as a variable to manage rather than a personal identity. I look for stability in relevant measures, not loyalty to a school of thought.
HL.03Muscles, joints and mobilityStrength, mobility, joints and back. My goal is sustained everyday function and reducing pain that interferes with mental work, rather than sporting achievement.
HL.04Cardiovascular healthAerobic endurance and basic indicators such as blood pressure, resting heart rate and blood lipids. These matter to any plan for a long and functional life.
HL.05Hormonal and metabolic measuresPeriodic laboratory assessments provide feedback for decisions. I do not treat symptoms alone as a complete picture; the aim is structured observation with appropriate medical input.
HL.06Mental and nervous-system healthResilience under stress, sleep quality and emotional state belong to the same view of health, rather than a disconnected subject labelled psychology.
§ 02
A practical protocol
how I make decisionsPR.01Define the directionI specify what I want to improve rather than simply saying 'health': sleep, back function, metabolism or endurance.
PR.02A hypothesis and a methodI draw on research evidence, medical professionals and my own observations. A method is provisional, not a doctrine.
PR.03A checkpointI decide in advance when and by what evidence I will evaluate the result: how I feel, how I function and relevant test results.
PR.04Revise the approachIf the hypothesis is not supported, I reconsider the method instead of forcing myself to comply in the name of discipline. Managed chaos includes the freedom to revise decisions.
§ 03
Boundaries
what I do not acceptI reject rigid programmes that damage connected areas of life: training that undermines sleep, diets that harm mental well-being, or discipline pursued at the expense of health. I reject magical explanations and schools of thought that demand belief. Nor do I want reassurance to replace systematic observation. Related themes: energy, , longevity, , the Care mode.
