The Eight Modes of Life OS
The eight modes describe different circumstances and tasks: development, optimisation, intensive work, recovery, adaptation, care and regaining lost function. One mode will often take priority at a given time, but moving between them is a normal part of life.

How to read this section
a changing trajectoryA simplified path runs from Build to Return: first establish a foundation, then improve its parameters and develop the capacity for demanding work. Recovery and adaptation become necessary along the way; different circumstances may call for care or the recovery of lost abilities. Real life seldom follows this order. The map helps identify which task matters most right now. The broader framework is described in Life OS in my own life.
